Great Game to Play at a Party - Left Right Center
We celebrated my 50th (gosh, that number just looks wrong!) earlier this month. Oh my goodness, I had so much fun!
My sister and daughters threw the party for me which made it even more enjoyable!
My nephew-in-law-to-be was DJ for the evening. We have to have music because we are a dancing family.
Well, at least we think we are...the videos tend to tell a different story.
Never watch yourself dance on video.
Ever.
You're welcome.
We also love to play games. One of our favorites is Left-Right-Center. All you need are 3 dice and something to use for tokens. We use $1 bills and the winner gets to keep the pot!
Because we had such a large crowd, I chose to make GIANT dice to use for the game. I simply cut a 4x4 post into 3 4-inch blocks, painted them white, then painted the dots on each side with black paint.
Normally, we do use ordinary game dice and play on a table top. SUPERSIZING the game was way more fun!
The game directions are simple. Each person begins with 3 tokens. One person begins by rolling 3 dice. If a 1 is rolled, they pass a token to the person on their left. If a 2 is rolled, they pass a token to the person on their right. If a 3 is rolled, they put a token in the center (pot) and those tokens never come back into play. If they roll a 4, 5, or 6, they are safe and do not have to give up any tokens.
A token is passed for each 1, 2, or 3 rolled. For example, if they roll 1, 1, and 5, they would pass 2 tokens to the left...one token for each 1 rolled. AND, you only roll a maximum of 3 dice. However, if you only have 2 tokens, you roll 2 dice or if you have 1 token, you roll 1 die. Make sense?! :)
After your roll, pass the dice to the person on your left for their turn and then continuing around the game table.
Even if you roll all of your tokens away, you're not out of the game. The player beside you may have to give you a token. The game continues until only ONE person is left with token(s).
The rules are pretty simple. The hardest part to remember is which direction to pass your token. That's why I made this little banner to hang beside the game. This canvas is actually a replacement cover for a director's chair. World Market had them on clearance for $0.99! They make the perfect banner or flag :)
I made a printable of the banner. You may download it here for your own Left-Right-Center game!

Thanks for stopping by and God bless!!
