nashville symphony house, home tour

Recently I was invited to a special preview of the Nashville Symphony Show House along with an amazing group of bloggers, the Nashville Influencers.

Ya'll, this home is gorgeously comfortable.  Ok, that's not a real term from an interior design textbook but I'm declaring it a real term right now.  You read it hear first!

This quintessential Southern Contemporary Folk home was created by top Nashville interior designers that have partnered with the award-winning team of Castle Homes and Wade Weissmann Architecture for Music City's newest signature event, the Nashville Symphony Show House, open for tour June 12-28 in the Forest Hills area of Nashville.

Castle Homes hosted our tour today along with a garden party with garden lifestyle expert and Southern Living Magazine Contributing Garden Editor Carmen Johnston along with the iconic Miss Daisy King and PBS Volunteer Gardener Troy Marden, author of "Southern Gardener's Handbook."

Well, it'll be easier and less wordy if I just show you this comfortable gorgeousness.  Sit back, grab a cuppa something and enjoy!  I'll catch you after the last photo.

Hello again!  See, I told ya, gorgeously comfortable or was it comfortably gorgeous.  Either way, it's a beautiful home.  If you're in the Nashville area, be sure to check it out.  Here's a link to Castle Homes with the details.  Many thanks to them, Forest Home Media, Miss Daisy King, Carmen Johnston Gardens, and Troy Marden for making this a great event.

Oh, are you wondering about the new header and blog name?  Yeah, I'm tinkering with changing The Altered Past to Spain Hill Farm. Since my blog is more about my home decorating and DIY projects instead of my altered art, I felt a change was necessary.

More on the change soon.  You'll probably notice a few new graphics as I'm still tweaking everything.  I'm too impatient to get it all figured out before uploading so you can experience the decision making process with me.  Thanks friends!!

God bless!

Country Living Fair Nashville

country living fair nashville review and photos

This weekend, I attended the Country Living Fair in Nashville.  I'm SO glad Country Living decided to hold a fair in my area.   It was held at the Wilson County Fairgrounds in Lebanon and it was the perfect site.

I met up with this lovely group of ladies that we call The Nashville Influencers.  It's an awesome group and has provided so many opportunities for me.  I have to give a shout out to the ladies in the photo with me:  Nancy McNulty of Forest Home Media, Kristie Barnett of The Decorologist, Meryll Rose of Talk of the Town, Angela Roberts of Spinach Tiger, Dana Tucker of Forest Home Media and Bella Tucker, Beth Bryan of Unskinny Boppy, Geinger Hill of Forest Home Media, Rosemary Palmer of Not Just Paper and Paint, Deneen Glidwell of Dreaming in Color, Elizabeth Scruggs of Superior Construction and Design, and Denise Simons of Life Style with Denise Simons.  Some have blogs and I'd love for you to check them out!

Ready to see lots of photos from the fair?!  Here goes!

Thrift Store Finds

It's been a while since I've shared some of my thrift store finds.  Actually, I haven't shared them in a while because I haven't really had the chance to shop in a while.

However, I did manage to stop by a Goodwill yesterday while I was waiting for my youngest to take her ACT.  I found a couple of goodies.

I found this beautiful red and cream herringbone weave throw.  I actually have a blue and cream one exactly like it.  It's super soft and just the right size for curling up with a good book or watching tv.  The price was just right too...$1.99!

The other goody I found yesterday was this peacock print.  It's signed but it's in Chinese, I'm assuming, and I don't know how to research it.  I don't exactly know how to make the Chinese characters on my keyboard, lol!

I love the colors...teal, green, and gold...and I loved the $4.99 price.  Now to find a home for it.

Well, school is coming to an end soon and I'm hoping to do more thrift store and yard sale shopping.  Not that I really need anything else but has that truly ever stopped a bargain shopper!?

Thanks for stopping by and God bless!!
